Security issues of the coal industry in production has been closely watched,the belt conveyor is the most important production equipment and its developments are trending toward high-power, large dip angle, big bulk volume,long distance and high speed. But at the same time, the rupture accident also occurs frequently which can lead to equipment damages, roadway congestion,mine production and personnel casualty. Belt-broken catcher of the belt conveyor can not only can detect strip break accident but also capture fractures of the conveyor belt accurately, which effectively reduce the damage caused by broken belt accident.Conveyor belt plays an important role in carrying and transporting material in belt conveyor, and its dynamic characteristics were very complicated with the friction drive principle. This paper analyzed conveyor belt movements before and after the fault belt and captured dynamic characteristics of the conveyor belt with Vogit model. In the point of the cell body, this paper researched the dynamic model of belt conveyor, analyzed broken belt conditions of the conveyor belt and simulated the speed change of the broken belt unit and other units used Matlab, which provides theoretical support for the distribution of the position and the device of the fault zone.In this thesis,the working principles and the advantages and disadvantages of the different kinds of the device were analyzed and summarized. According to the design criteria of belt-broken catching device, the integrated mechanical and electrical liquid of belt-broken protection device was designed which was mainly consisted of four parts signal acquisition system,electric control system,the hydraulic control system, wedge mechanical capture mechanism. And thus combined with movement characteristics of the belt before and after fault and capture dynamics, this paper made a deep research.The paper established the mathematical model of hydraulic system and the accumulator in the hydraulic system played an important role in energy supply,thus the relevant setting parameters had an important impact on the catch time and features. Established the simulation model of the hydraulic system using AMESim, carried out three-dimensional solid model of belt-broken catching device using Solid Works, and more realistic simulation of the device’s liquid coupling through the ADAMS and AMESim co-simulation was conducted. The results show that, when the hydraulic cylinder oil supply was met and the accumulator pressure and system pressure were identical, the capture time of the single volume 50 L was longer than 25 L accumulator, and the greater the system pressure is, the shorter capture time is; the capture time decreases with the increasing of parallel accumulator volume, but when the volume reaches a certain value, the capture time is not affected by it; the capture time decreases with the installation distance decreases of tandem accumulator and hydraulicpump; in the mechanism, the greater the contact area between the upper wedge and the conveyor belt is, the fast the piston rod reaches the predetermined position, but because the time of the contact is different, the capture time shows the tendency of increase with the decrease of the first.In this paper, a simulation test was carried out on the basis of the actual working conditions of the test rig for the simulation test. The correctness of the theoretical design and simulation results are verified by the experimental results,and the experimental results are summarized and analyzed, which indicates that this device can effectively and quickly carry out the arrest of the fault belt, the degree of automation was high, and the performance was excellent, which can provide reference for the research of the broken-belt catcher of belt conveyor.
