The Design Inspiration From Guangxi Vernacular Architecture:

The two topics of Architecture regionalization and traditional vernacular architecture modernization are the two sides of how modern architecture combines with region. Both of them could get inspiration from local tradition vernacular architecture.After years of precipitation, traditional vernacular architecture has already organically blended in its environment. The organic characteristic of vernacular architecture embodies in not only the harmony relationship among all its elements but also that it merges into the surrounding environment. Those are the precious experiences which we can refer to during architectural design.This thesis combines the practical scheme in Guangxi province. By studying the vernacular architecture in Guangxi province, the inspiration of how to develop the space and form in the scheme is expected. On the basis of plan which had deeply developed by the time this study began, the space and form of the scheme already had a basic prototype which lacked details. By dealing with the partial modification and adding detail, the character of richness in change and interlacing of elements in Guangxi vernacular architecture may be expressed.
