With the growth of vehicle conservation, traffic congestion has become a major cause of obstructing urban development. In this case, public transport becomes the core of urban traffic because of its small road resource usage, large capacity and high efficiency. More and more researchers have found that the priority development of public transport can effectively alleviate the pressure of urban traffic, improve transport efficiency, ease traffic congestion and promote the healthy development of urban transport. This paper studies the transit priority signal control algorithms, the main work includes the following aspects.First, the subject demands for traffic data were analyzed on the basis of summarizing the transit priority research at home and abroad. Besides, the methods were clear for the selection of survey sites, the specific types of survey data and the implementation of the survey. And the traffic data were obtained, which will provide data support for the later research.Second, transit priority signal control algorithm in single intersection was studied. First of all, the flow of transit priority control algorithm was designed. And the model of average passenger delay of the intersection was established as the objective function in the algorithm of transit signal priority. Then Genetic algorithm was used to search for the optimal value. Subsequently, to reduce the effect of transit signal priority on the social vehicles, the non-bus phase compensation strategy was proposed.Third, the transit priority signal control algorithms based on the coordination of the Green Wave was studied. Above all, a coordinated control program based on the Green Wave was designed. Research showed that the frequency request of transit priority will have an effect of the Green Wave arterial. So to reduce this effect, the concept of transit priority urgency degree was proposed. Meanwhile, in order to meet the arterial coordinated transportation needs, as well as balance transit priority request, an integrated delay model based on two adjacent intersections was established, which achieves transit signal priority on the premise that transit priority urgency degree can be meet firstly.Finally, a parameter calibration method of microscopic traffic simulation model is proposed according to the differences between the characteristics of driving on the main road and side road. And on this basis, the result of the microscopic traffic simulation model can be more fit the actual traffic situation. Two kinds of transit priority control algorithm were tested by VISSIM and hardware in the loop(HIL). Then a transit priority signal simulation algorithm based VISVAP was developed to simulate the transit priority algorithm in VISSIM. In addition, a HIL test platform was built to test the transit priority strategy. The results show that the transit signal priority strategy can effectively reduce the average passenger delay of the intersection and arterial road.
