With the growth of vehicle conservation, traffic congestion has become a major factor of obstructing urban development. Arterial green-wave coordination control as the most common coordination control method currently which tries to make sure the coordination phase straight vehicles not or less stop through the downstream intersections by adjusting the parameters of the arterial intersections signal timing. This method not only can reduce the stop times and the average vehicle delay, but also can improve the road capacity and reduce traffic congestion. This thesis studies the arterial green-wave coordination control method and effect assessment method in urban road, the main work includes the following aspects.First, the subject demands for traffic data were analyzed on the basis of summarizing the arterial coordination control research at home and abroad. Besides, A data survey method based on mobile phone APP is proposed. And the traffic data were obtained, which will provide data support for the later research.Second, based on bandwidth maximization, this thesis proposed an offset optimization method considering the influence of the release fleet of upstream intersection was affected by the queuing vehicles of the downstream intersection. And the vehicle delay of downstream intersection and the vehicle delay of downstream intersection coordination phase are taken as the performance index. The Synchro simulation results show that the method can effectively reduce the average vehicle delay of downstream intersection.Third, green-wave coordination and the efficiency of the downstream intersection are affected by the transit signal priority(TSP) of the upstream intersection. In order to solve the problem, a TSP model that considers the delay of upstream and downstream intersection of an arterial road is presented in this thesis. And the weighted delays of upstream and downstream intersection are taken as the performance index. The model not only ensures the transit priority but also reduces the impact on green-wave coordination. And the model was verified through the VISSIM in this thesis. The results show that the model can release the conflict between the TSP and the green-wave coordination.Finally, the method of arterial green wave coordination effect assessment was studied exploratively, and a comprehensive evaluation index model was constructed in this thesis. And the operation effect of city roads which had implemented green-wave coordination control in Beijing was been assessed.
