With rapid promotion of country’s western development strategy, the road construction efforts in western karst area will continue to increase, and the fill embankment is an inevitable choice for the construction of highways in karst areas in order for the rational use of resources and protecting the ecological environment. Domestic research on rock fill embankment has just started lately, the construction technology is not yet mature and there are more problems to be solved.Based on the highway project of Guangxi Hedu, the rock-fill material technical requirements, the fill embankment construction technology and quality control methods, and the fill embankment stability evaluation methods and other aspects about rock-fill embankment in karst region in the thesis. Meanwhile, a more comprehensive for filling embankment construction techniques are discussed in the thesis, the main research contents and results are as follows:1. Study the rock-fill engineering characteristics and technical requirements, proposed rock-fill gradation range and suitable rolling machinery and methods, analyzes the important factors affected by the stability of rock fill embankment.2. For current specification which lack quantitative requirements in fill subgrade compaction quality controlling, it proposed subgrade fill foundation coefficient K30 control standards by field tests and the relevant provisions of karst areas.3.Relying on the highway project of Guangxi Hedu, the paper observed and analyzed the test sections layered settlement changes, and preposed the compaction control standards, research the embankment stability in the way of combining mechanical calculations and finite element simulation analysis, proposed pile thickness and construction requirements that are met with slope stability.4. Analyzing the mechanism of rock fill embankment settlement and the method of the research, and get the subsidability regulation of subgrade after construction.
