The hot summer and cold winter zone is located in the Middle-Low Yangtze Area. This area is considered as a non-heating region in winter, and the indoor thermal environment quality is worse in the residential building in this region. It has an unfavorable condition that hot in summer and cold in winter, temperature change in a day is small, lots of precipitation and low sunshine rate. Recently, people in this area have taken many kinds of heating mode by themselves. It caused the raise of building energy consumption. This paper based on research of present heating situation and analysis conclusions of the result of testing and investigation in this region, then make division of this zone based on heating design. Finally make some suggestions on the suitable building heating mode of transitional zone. This paper take basic data analysis, testing and investigating on field, questionnaire analysis on citizens in local, statistics on meteorological data and other useful measures to make this research work.Achievements of this paper are the following:Firstly,by analyzing urban climate, heating mode and indoor thermal environment of residential building in different latitude and longitude city in hot summer and cold winter zone in winter,to master the real situation in this region.Secondly,I expound the necessity of heating design division in hot summer and cold winter zone and proposed the principle. By researching the status home and abroad, combined with actual climate features in this region, I eventually summarized the indexes and divide each area. Finally, I summarize the heating mode features on transitional zone and give some practical advises of heating mode.
