A Research On The Construction Of Historical Human Settings In Xingping

Every old Chinese city has its own unique ideas and methods of construction. Under the circumstance of increasing urbanization,exploring planning ideas and design techniques in ancient Chinese cites definitely has its urgent meaning in reality and scholar. The historical city of Xingping is rooted in its deep local culture and natural environment. According to the theories of human settings science, with Xingping as the research target, this article study in depth to find living wisdom in this area as an access to understand those planning ideas and methods of ancient Chinese cities.This article is based the methodologies of literature analysis and investigation. Through sorting out the reasons and characteristics of developing process and aromorphosis of Xingping city, combing local natural environment and social humanistic environment, this paper try to find the experiences about site selection, urban shape and structure, main buildings, typical settings construction, representative project design and so on in special geographic environment. Through the method of quantities, the author try to conclude the experiences of constructing human settings in Xingping and propose the idea that urban design should follow the traditional structure of mountains and rivers and regard the relationship among the ancient cities and mountains and rivers around as a great part of the protect the culture environment of ancient cities as a whole. It all comes to a way to design cities directed by human and nature environments.At last, this paper conclude the design method and wisdom of traditional cities in Shaanxi Province. Urban landscape combined with nature has built good human settlements. Humanistic space in the city has promote the spirit of the city. Construction of schools and temples has the effect of educating people. Those heritages has kept the spirit of ancient citizens. Meanwhile, the big structure of mountains and rivers, the construction of important buildings have made the structure of the city. With those wisdom, this paper has provide such advice for future construction of the city: the height of buildings should be controlled on important crosslines and big landscape and structure of mountains and rivers should be made.
