Since the reform and opening up, China’s energy consumption has a steady growth, and building energy consumption accounted for 27.5% of the total energy consumption in 2001. Building energy consumption will reach 35% at this rate in 2020. Public building energy consumption is an important part of the building energy consumption, average energy consumption per unit area from 17.9 kgce/m2 in 2001 increased to 21.4 kgce / m2 in 2011, the most rapidly growing in all buildings. The energy consumption of large public buildings is larger, unit building area power consumption indicators 70~300 KWh /(m2 ? a), is 10 to 20 times of a residential building. Commercial, office complex building is the typical high-energy buildings of large public buildings. It has a great significance that commercial, office complex building energy efficiency optimization for the promotion of energy-saving buildings.This paper studied the design features of commercial, office complex building, and established typical architecture reference models of Harbin, Beijing, Wuhan, Kunming and Guangzhou using dynamic building energy simulation software EnergyPlus. It determined the boundary condition of the reference models and simulation methods.According to commercial building loads and energy consumption characteristics, it conducted energy optimization from air conditioning systems, and analyzed the energysaving effect of using the variable air volume air conditioning system, variable flow water system and the exhaust heat recovery technology.According to office building loads characteristics, it analyzed the impact of every affect element on loads. And it conducted sensitivity analysis for office building design parameters, and extracted important design parameters of affecting building energy consumption. it analyzed the impact of every important design parameters on building energy consumption.The effects of energy-saving are different with different air conditioning system energy saving technology in commercial areas of five cities. The effect of variable air volume air conditioning system energy conservation is best; variable flow air conditioning systems is less; exhaust air heat recovery technology is better in Harbin and Guangzhou followed, and it is not suitable in Kunming. For office area, infiltrate, heating set temperature and boiler BE have a great influence on building energy consumption in Harbin and Beijing; window-wall ratio, equipment power density, cooling set temperature, chiller COP and pump efficiency have a great influence on building energy consumption in Wuhan and Guangzhou; window-wall ratio, equipment power density and cooling set temperature have a great influence on building energy consumption in Kunming.
