Earthquake as a kind of natural disaster which is destructive and sudden can cause huge casualties and property losses in a short period of time. Our country is on the border of Alpine-Humalayan seismic zone and Pacific Rim seismic zone, so China is a country prone to frequent earthquakes. The analysis after earthquake shows that the destruction and collapse of buildings are the basic cause of casualties and economic losses. Due to the complexity and randomness of the earthquake action, even if we think over the checking calculation of elastic plastic deformation at earthquake sensitive area and weak position that easily damaged at design time, the structure under strong earthquake is also prone to happen the phenomenon of inter-story yield failure caused by hinge at the end of the column.Therefore, it is necessary to look for the method to improve the seismic performance of frame structure from the point of view of the structure system. Frame-rocking wall structure system has a clear destory mechanism, can make the each floor’s inter-story deformation and damage distribution of the frame structure kept uniform, effectively avoid the phenomenon of inter-story yield, which thereby improves the yield mechanism and seismic performance of the structure.In this paper, the frame-rocking wall system is the main research subject. The frame-rocking wall system is designed and the superiority of anti-seismic is analyzed. The main research work achievements of this dissertation are as follows:1. The contents, principles and significance of structural damage control are summarized, and the positive significance of the "Overall damage mechanism" of the frame-rocking wall system is defined. The design methods of the anti-seismic structure and the finite element software which are used in this paper are introduced. And according to the problems existed in the frame rocking wall system at present, a kind of hidden frame-rocking wall system is put forward.2. Under the premise of ensuring the security and economy, and using the inter-story displacement angle limit as the judgment basis, the rocking wall stiffness requirement of frame-rocking wall structure with different floors is determined. the practical methods selecting rocking wall section in the preliminary design is put forward.3. The seismic behavior of the frame-rocking wall is studied through comparing with the 10 floors frame rocking wall structure model, the frame structure model and the frame shear wall structure model. Studies have shown that the arbitrary intermediate floors of the frame structure and frame-shear wall structure may become weak floor and occur deformation concentration phenomenon, but the inter-floor deformation of the frame-rocking wall structure is basically consistent and achieve the overall yield mechanism. The damage mechanism between frame-shear wall structure and frame-rocking wall structure is different. The walls of frame shear wall structure are destroyed firstly, but the main body frame of the frame-rocking wall structure is destroyed firstly.4. Be aimed at controlling the displacement and acceleration response of the frame-rocking wall structure under earthquake action, we put forward the design method of the frame-rocking wall structure system added metal dampers and viscous dampers. Through the elastic-plastic time history analysis of 10 story frame-rocking wall structure model added dampers, the damping controlled effect of different arrangement modes of energy dissipation device on frame rocking wall is investigated.
