Nowadays, as an important means to improve performance, optimization is adopted by more and more designers in the design process. This thesis carried out the optimal desigh of the track shoe according a certain type of 30 t military tracked vehicle, thus providing a reference for solving passing ability of the tracked vehicle on soft ground. This thesis focused on the establishment of the interaction mechanical model of a single piece of track shoe and the ground, carried out the track shoe traction performance finite element analysis, finished the track shoe’s traction experimental work in the soil bin, and put forward track shoe optimization parameters according to different typical road, also did finite element strength check for the optimal track shoe under different work conditions.Consider track shoe grouser’s structural parameter, established the interaction mechanical model of a single piece of track shoe and the ground. Using the Mohr-Coulomb constitutive model of the ABAQUS finite element software, according to the mechanical properties of soil, finished the soil modeling, through the finite element simulation made verification for the track shoe- ground soil thrust model.In indoor, we carried out traction experiments in soil bin for different specifications of track shoe under different soil conditions, and calculated maximum adhesion data for each condition, the maximum adhesion mean of soil and track shoe structure parameters are fitted to get fitting equation, and then compared with the mathematical model. At the mean time, analyzed the influence of track shoe’s three structural parameters on the adhesion, that is the grouser height, the grouser spacing and the character angle.To improve the tracked vehicle passing ability on soft ground, we had the tracked vehicle unit weight drawbar pull as the optimization goal, had the vehicle power consumption, relevant military standard requirements and the relationships between relative parameters as the constraint, had the grouser height, track shoe grouser angle and track shoe spacing this three board structural parameters as the design variables, combined with tracked vehicle’s three typical operating conditions, finished the optimization of the track shoe, proposed track shoe parameters which has better performance, and finally the optimization results were checked.At the end, we made finite element analysis for the optimal track shoe when under stable, uniform straight, climbing, cornering and other different conditions, gain each component’s stress under different conditions, while providing stress cloud and cloud displacement. The results show the track shoe body play a supporting role in the process of operating, the plate body close to the pin ears has the larger stress, the edge of pin ears has the largest displacement. The simulation resuts show that the the strength of the optimal track shoe can meet the material requirements.
