As one of the forty scenes of the Yuanmingyuan, Wanfanganhe scene contains the main complex Wanfanganhe which shapes a 卍, surrounding environment, and associate facilities. Qianlong emperor said it was his father’s favorite architecture to stay. Now the Wanfanganhe relic locates in the Yuanmingyuan Park, with only the basement left. Though we can get a glimpse of its outline in the painting series Forty Scenes of the Yuanmingyuan, the interior decoration remains mystery. No direct description or related research can show it. In the paper, I used the Nine Poems of Wanfanganhe, which was made by Emperor Qianlong as a clue to develop the paragraph. By analyze of the related drawings, models and documents, I explored the interior design of Wanfanganhe. Taking it as the start point, I continued to research the pattern of interior design in Qing palace through the remaining drawings and documents.Firstly, I combed the remaining archives of Wanfanganhe, including the documents, drawings and models made by Family Lei. The exploration in files contributes to the research of Wanfanganhe. Analyze of documents mainly results in the knowledge of background, while the comparisons among drawings lead to the findings in its processing. Meanwhile, the research of models focuses on the space and the model itself.Secondly, I concentrated on the information passed by the Nine Poems of Wanfanganhe. With the drawings and models, I referred the arrangement. And with the 3D software, I tried to restore the complex and made detailed discussion. Then I chose some typical functional unit, such as the theatre space or the perspective-drawing-walls series, and figured the design pattern of them respectively. Finally, I tried to find more examples of the pattern found above through the archives and managed to conclude the design style of the Qing palace in terms of interior design.
