Application Research Of Inclusive Design In General Hospital Waiting Space

As a kind of design strategy, the inclusive design has risen to strategic level in some developed countries. The inclusive design benefits everyone, and the non-inclusive design puts up barrier everywhere. Guiding the design process with the concept of inclusive design could expand the design benefited group to the greatest extent. As the aging is on the rise gradually in our country, paying attention to inclusive design is a kind of new reaction to the overall inclusive growth strategy in our country from the perspective of design humanistic care.The waiting space in general hospital is the spatial place, which provides waiting function for patients and accompanied personnel, and is possessed with the function of short time rest. It is commonly featured by territoriality, physical property, inductivity and humanity. Currently the systematic research towards the waiting space in general hospital remains to be promoted. Analyzing the design of waiting space in general hospital from the perspective of inclusive design theory plays relatively high role in guiding such design in our country practically. In order to provide feasible optimizing measures for reducing doctor-patient disputes, it could be regarded as the innovation point for this paper.By applying the inclusive design theory, this paper made comparative analysis towards the environmental status of waiting space in Shanghai’s new and old general hospitals by means of field investigation and adopting relevant technical means. Four principles had been put forward for the inclusive design of waiting space in general hospital, which were sustainability principle, fairness principle, flexibility principle and fault tolerance principle. To be specific, they were applied to two aspects, indoor spatial environment and hospital management. In addition, the information data under data era have become the important guarantee for people’s life and work, the application of autonomous service could improve the doctor-visiting efficiency for hospital, and is conducive for reducing the negative emotion from the users of waiting space.Under the data era, being driven by the Internet of Things IT technology, the inclusive design to the waiting space in general hospital is blended with humanistic attainment, ecological environment and people-oriented service, and finally forms the trinitarian inclusive waiting environment. In future, the inclusive design to waiting space in hospital will tend to present intelligent design, emotional design and making design for future, and thus expand the design benefited group to the greatest extent and serve people’s life.
