Design For Main Public Service Space In Large Museum

With the development and prosperity of China’s cultural undertakings, needs of broad masses of the people for spiritual and cultural life are growing. Museums gets more attention and development in its region for its cultural venues core position, and its quantity and the quality are at a stage of vigorous development. After the museum is open free for public, increased a huge flow of people and the museum’s service level put forward higher requirements. In this context, a good service space is one of the important factor in attracting the public to visit and providing humane experience, so it should be valued to design and use.Currently, people go to the museums is no longer simply just to understand the local history and culture, or accepting preaching passively, "wandering around the museum" has increasingly become a type of leisure for many people. So, the design concept of the domestic museum’s public service space has yet to be transformed and strengthened. Excellent public service space and facilities should not only need to meet the the basic functions for the convenience of visitors, also need to expand services to attract more residents and visitors. By the real contradiction, when a museum from approval process to design, it’s review evidence and experience is always followed years ago compiled the design specifications and reference materials. Bring a series of embarrassment of incompatible with the modern concept.To the above problems, this paper hope to analyze, generalize and summarize the current situation and the external experience of large museums in China, and to explore the characteristics of the main public services space, put forward design methods and principles,in order to play the role of guidance and reference.First of all, collecting data and analyzing the existing relevant standard of museums’ definition and the corresponding scale experience.Understanding the research object and content definitely. Generalizing the related dissertations and publications both at home and abroad to absorb it’s excellent experienceSecondly, analysis of the actual case of through research of several domestic museum and summarized it’s advantages and disadvantages, From the start, it presents the problem need to be perfect or possible to profit from the place which can learn advanced concepts.Again, survey analysis the structure and needs for different groups of people activitied at the museum, From the start, research for the issues related to the main public service space design,summarize the design principles and than propose solution ideas.Finally, with its own engineering experience, discusses the spatial features and contribution to the overall operation of the museum and the design requirements and so on from all aspects of the large museums of the main public services space.Through the surveys, induction, analysis methods, to reflect the status quo, absorb advanced concepts, hoping to promote the transformation of the concept of related parties, so that the design of the large museum main public services space become more realistic and forward-looking.
