Abstract/Summary:
To research into the evolution of parameters during braking, as needed, a constant speed brake equipment is designed and produced to simulate the friction phenomenon between disc and pad in the brake friction pair. The disc fixed on spindle which is clamped by jaw chunk of lathe and the pad, would rotate relatively, and the frictional action will achieve. The torque are measured by pressure sensor, and calculated later. The temperature on fixed point of pad through braking are measured by thermocouple. The vibration on the outside of pad is measured by accelerometer. The noise during braking is measured by sound level meter. After enlarged and filtered, the signal is displayed lively then recorded through virtual instrument. Through the calibration and evaluation, friction tester can realize an accurate measurement of temperature, torque, acceleration, sound level in different initial velocities, brake pressures etc. with the merits of high sensitivity, high linearity and low hysteresis.Based on the experiments, some simulation and analysis of the temperature field on disc and pad during braking has been done by the ABAQUS software. The brake pressure and initial velocity are set as variables in the simulation. As a result, the distribution and evolution about the temperature and stress are obtained. Moreover, we did some real mode simulation for disc brake and analyzed the vibration in each frequency, the simulation result and the experimental result are perfectly match.
