The Particle-reinforced Al-based Composite has good wear resistance, low coefficient of thermal expansion and excellent thermal conductivity. The brake-disc of high velocity train made by Al-based composite with spray deposition technology can effectively lessen the weight of brake-disc, decrease the temperature of disc while braked, and furthermore attained well brake properties.The paper analized the design of friction and wear tester including mechanical design, electrical design, the flow chart and the program of computer based on research of the friction and wear properties of Al-based composite indoor and abroad. And primarily discussed the friction and wear properties of the Al-based composite.In the base of analysis and research of the relatively literature, the paper described the feature and application range of the simulation tester which had been made. In order to test the friction properties of the Al-based composite in the condition of laboratory, A self-made simulation tester which could dynamically adopt the datum, analysis and calculate the results were researched. This tester could also show the curve directly on the screen.The research of the friction and wear properties of the Al-based composite by self-made simulation tester shows: densification technology and heat-treatment made greatly effect on the friction and wear properties of the material. And the brake condition also had strongly effect. The material densified and heat-treated had good friction properties and wear resistance compared with the same chemical contents which had not been treated.
