Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors(PMSM) of Hybrid Electric Vehicle require high performance, and it exist poor working conditions. The study of PMSM temperature rise is one of the key reference index of motor design. In this paper, a PMSM was taken as a study object, established directed oil cooling heat dissipation scheme, designed cooling structure of oiled-spray tube, conducted the study of motor temperature field in rated conditions and peak conditions, and used the experimental platform for the verification of motor temperature rise test.Based on the basic structure of motor, an angle of "heat production—heat distribution—heat dissipation" describes the basic theory of motor heating and cooling in this paper. Taking into account the performance requirements and working methods of the motor, established directed oil cooling heat dissipation scheme, designed the spray tube that is the main cooling structure of cooling scheme by orthogonal method, calculated the diameter of spray pipeline, the number of spray pipe holes and the diameter of spray pipe holes of spray pipe structural factor by the simulation of flow field. For the determined motor model, established the three-dimensional temperature field solution domain considering the flow pattern of the fluid, equivalent calculated the thermal parameters of windings insulation and air gap between stator and rotor, determined reasonable boundary conditions, solved the temperature field and temperature rise characteristics of key parts in three conditions, which were rated power and rated speed, peak power and rated speed, peak speed and rated power. The temperature rise of three kinds of working conditions meted the motor temperature design requirements. Setting the conditions were equal to the three kinds of simulation conditions by using the electric drive system comprehensive performance test platform, conducted the motor temperature rise experiment, analyzed and compared the experimental error of motor windings end temperature point between the simulation values and experimental values. The experimental error were less than 4% under three kinds of working conditions, which indicated the reasonable design of motor spray pipe structure and the accuracy solution of motor temperature field.
