With China development and people’s standard of living goes higher, heat-supply comes into more families in winter. Nowadays, coal-fired heating system is still play a role in winter. However, coal-fired heating system will cause a lot of soot and toxic emission including Sulfur dioxide and Nitrogen oxides, which is the key reason of haze and detrimental to health and environment. Along with China’s Environmental requirements getting more and more stricter, clean fuel represented by natural gas would be widely used and expanding gas boiler heating system is irreversible. Therefore, it’s of great significance to research gas boiler heating system.First of all, this article introduces heating system development process and current research situation in China and abroad. Based on former achievements, this article gives an optimal strategy based on genetic algorithm that could be used in gas heating system.Secondly, this article introduces gas boiler’s basic principle, structure and characteristics. Then, a whole heating system’s model is built including heat source model, pipe network model, heat converting station model and heat consumption model. After that, a detailed introduction on genetic algorithm is given.At last, using the established models and improved genetic algorithm, a optimal solution in different workload is obtained aiming at fulfilling heat-supply requirements with the lowest energy consumption. Afterwards, a comparison between coal-fired and gas heating system will be given from both environmental and economic sides.In the end of the article, there is a summary for all. Potential algorithms and practical technology are put forward.
