Distribution network line loss is a comprehensive economic and technical indicator. It can effectively reflect the level of technology and enterprise management of power enterprises, and make an accurate assessment for the reasonable structure and operation of power grid. A large part of the losses from the power grid is distribution network line loss. Line Loss Analysis of distribution network plays an important role in fault diagnosis of distribution network. If we can grasp the distribution network line loss of structure, and take reasonable measures to reduce losses, the economic efficiency of power supply enterprises will be quickly improved. The thesis realizes the line loss calculation and analysis based on distribution GIS, and develop the line loss calculation and analysis system combined with GIS and line loss management system which based on GIS graphics interface. Firstly, the thesis analyzes several mature traditional line loss calculation method. Through the comprehensive comparison of their features, this paper proposes using layered back/forward sweep algorithm to calculate the line loss of distribution network. Secondly, according to the characteristics of the distribution network equipment, this paper designs a topology analysis model based on GIS. Using this model, we can quickly determine the flow path. Thirdly, we can calculate distribution network line loss on the flow path. Finally, we can analyze the calculation result of line loss. This paper finished the functional analysis, database design and line loss calculation process design of distribution network line loss analysis system, and makes study of the practicability of function, the integrity of the data, and the accuracy of the process. The example analysis shows that the system is feasible and practical.
