The Research About The Style Of Traditional Guild Architecture In South Jiangsu

Guild is a group which set up by the peer member in the town.And the guild architecture has functions of receiving, inventory, boarding, sacrifice, acting for god, and so on.From Ming and Qing dynasty to the Republic of China, with prosperity of commerce and handicraft industry, there were a large number of the guild architecture that serving for different industries in South Jiangsu.The traditional guild architecture in South Jiangsu is the evidence of the prosperity of industry and commerce in this region during Ming and Qing dynasties to the Republic of China. It is also the important sample for architecture of new types and new constructions before in and before the modern period.Taking guild architecture in South Jiangsu as the research object, I have done field investigation on the existing 18 guild architecture.On the basis of the first-hand data, with the relevant information and literature, I have reviewed and summarized the basic processes of the generation and development of guild architecture in South Jiangsu.Through the research method of instance analysis, comparative analysis and induction and deduction, on the one hand, I have study the style of traditional guild architecture in South Jiangsu, and made them divided into three categories, namely traditional-residence style, Chinese-and-western style,and private-garden style.I have made detailed analysis of the space layout,elevation and mode of construction,so that I could summarizes the style characteristic of guild architecture in South Jiangsu.On the other hand, I have made discussion of the rule of the evolution of the style characteristics on the timeline.Finally, from the economic, social, cultural and psychological,I have done analysis of the causes of the characteristics of guild architecture in South Jiangsu.The full text is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part,which expounding the research object and content of this text.and the related research were overviewed.The second chapter is the summarize of background of creation and developing stages of guild architecture in South Jiangsu.On the third chapter,I firstly enumerate the list of traditional guild architecture in South Jiangsu, and illustrates its existing situation.Then I make different classification of the existing guild architecture, setting the stage for the research of the fourth chapter.On the fourth chapter, embarking from the three kinds of style,I analyze the space, modelling and the mode of construction of guild architecture in South Jiangsu, researching for the main features of each style.The fifth chapter is the summarize of the cause of the style of guild architecture in South Jiangsu.
