Blast Resistance Of Glass Curtain Wall Subjected To Blast Loading

With the integration of architectural art and function, glass curtain wall has become an outstanding representative of the era of high-rise buildings. Due to the pervasive threat of international terrorist activities, whose likely targets often come to be the high-rise complex, the behavior of glass curtain wall subjected to blast loading should be taken into account. With literature review, it’s found that the research mainly focus on glass curtain wall in the wind, air-tightness, water-tightness and seismic performance, instead of blast resistance. In order to promote the widespread use of glass curtain wall, blast resistance of glass curtain wall subjected to blast loading is of practical significance.Firstly, this paper proposes protective measures according to explosions. Secondly, research methods are summarized according to the characteristics and failure principle of blast loading. Thirdly, this paper discusses the properties and dynamic response of glass under blast loading. Then, ANSYS/LS-DYNA software is used to obtain the dynamic response of glass panels under blast loading, this paper discusses several key issues on numerical simulation, and analyzes stress and displacement time histories of monolithic glass panels and laminated glass panels. To prove the correct of numerical simulation, the result is compared with experimental result. Finally, this paper presents the impact factors of the blast resistance of glass curtain wall and blast design procedures.
