The Research Of Connotation Of Computing Ability And Cultivating Mode For Engineering Talents

Computing Science plays an increasingly important role in the rapid development of information technology. From a national strategic perspective, it is important for the industrial upgrading and development. Moreover, from an individual perspective, with the development of large engineering concept, computing ability becomes a basic requirement for modern engineering talents.As we all know, computer science has been regarded as a tool, which is a supplementary discipline. However, in the "Internet+" background, the narrow cognitive for computational science is a very big limitations for development of the information age. The cultivation of computing ability for engineering talents is imminent.Based on the problems above, this study reviewed the research of computing ability, computational thinking and other related research. After the analysis of the present cultivation of engineering talents at home and abroad, the connotation of computing ability was proposed-when solving a problem, design a system or understand human behaviors, individuals or teams who have related engineering knowledge can use the basic concepts of computer under the guidance of computational thinking and with the help of modern computing tools (hardware and software). It includes the ability to master the basic operation of computers, the ability to apply advanced computer software, the ability to modeling and simulation, the ability to use calculation methods, the ability to efficient programming and computing, as well as the ability to analyze the results and make the right presentation illustrated.Through the analysis of traditional engineering discipline of Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, this study explored the cultivation of engineering talents in China and analyzed the situation about their computing capacity building. At the same time, through the in-depth research of Zhejiang University engineering students and professors, this study found out the awareness and satisfaction of students about their computing ability and explored the status and problem on curriculum about computing ability. Then, in contrast with the computing training mode of universities abroad, solutions were proposed.The cultivation of computing ability for engineering talents is an important task that takes quite a long time to fulfill. Understanding the connotation and structure of engineering talent in computing ability helps to promote the innovation and development of engineering education. Results of this study not only provided a theoretical basis to better cultivate the computing ability for engineering talents in university, but also has practical significance.
