The Selection For Speed Regulation Methods Of Generating Power By Using Pump Station

In our country, the engineering system of draining flight a flood, drought control irrigation and inter-basin water transfer of large pump stations has been initially formed in these provinces and regions that have many pump stations since the country founded. These stations are usually lay by in non-flood season that leads water resource is often wasted when upstream having excess water. In order to avoid the wasting of water resource, the research of using the pump station to generate power is very necessary. The related experts and scholars have researched it, but these researches are scattered and limited that can’t effectively guide pump stations which can generate power. Therefore, we systematically research and analysis speed regulation methods of generating power by the pump station.In the first chapter, we spell the situation of hydroelectric power generation in the world, only our country has researched and realized generating power by the pump station while the hydroelectric power generation is mainly using hydro-power station. And show the feasibility and economic value of using the pump station to generate power by introduce the development and benefits of using pump stations to generate power in our country.In the second chapter, we analyze the turbine character of the pump, and verify the pump can run like the hydro-turbine by model test.The required water-head of generating power is usually higher than pumping water, but the fact is opposite. We must reduce running speed of the set for increasing efficiency of generating power. So we research the possible ways of the pump station generating power and show the principles and implementations of all speed governing methods in the third chapter.In the fourth chapter we present some bases and principles for the pump station choices the method of power generation by the characters and the application situations of all speed governing methods. And we show two engineering examples which illustrate how choice the optimum method for speed adjustment according to conditions of the pump station, and summary some general rules of speed control method selection for pump stations how choice the optimum speed adjustment method in the fifth chapter.
