At first, the dissertation introduces the development process of sunroof, sums up thetypes of the existing sunroofand the processing methods of sunroof, summarizes the present research state of hemming forautomotive closures.In the hemming technology of BIW,robot roller hemming has been more and more widely used because of excellent flexibility and high degree of automation. The robot roller hemming process is researched through the introduction of the robot roller hemming process parameters and common defects.Throughthe simulation of ordinary plane circular roller hemming, the simulation characteristics of ABAQUS, AutoForm and DYNAFORM are compared,and the use of the three softwares is summarized, the method of roller hemming simulation studied deeply.9 simulation experiments are designed and simulated in the DYNAFORM software using the principle of orthogonal test to study the influence trend of the TCP-RTP values of each step to the roll-in/roll-out and wave winkle about the sunroof roller hemming. According to the simulation calculation results, the TCP-RTP value leading to the best roller hemming quality is selected, and it comes to the conclusion that the influence trend of the TCP-RTP values of each step to the roll-in/roll-out and wave winkle about the sunroof roller hemming. At the end of the dissertation, the actual production process of the sunroofroller hemming is introduced, the importance of the off-line simulation to the roller hemming described and the quality defects of the actual sunroofroller hemming and a series of quality improvement measures summarized.
