Most overhead transmission lines in Shanxi have to go through the mountains, the lightning will cause a lot of damage. Especially in Gujiao Taiyuan Heavy lightning mountain area, the transmission line occurs fault tripping the main reason is caused by a lightning strike, the proportion of more than 70 percent, the impact is relatively serious. Transmission line after being struck by lightning, insulator occurs flashover even burst, serious when may results in the failure of string, dropping accidents caused by power lines. So for Gujiao Taiyuan mountain transmission line professional lightning protection work is the most important.Through review and summarize both at home and abroad for transmission lines anti lightning flashover technology literature, theory, practice and lay the foundation for the combination of Taiyuan mountain arrester and insulator using status, analysis of lightning arrester and insulator in the use of problems existing in the process. It is pointed out that according to the different levels of regional lightning, should adopt different management measures. Based on the statistical analysis of lightning current monitoring system in Gujiao mountain area of Taiyuan Province, the relationship between the lightning point and terrain is studied, and the probability of the occurrence of lightning and lightning in different environments is analyzed. The lightning location system is used to collect the lightning distribution data in Gujiao mountain area, and to analyze the characteristics of the lightning area in combination with the record of lightning fault in previous years. In recent years, the problems and causes of the lightning protection work in Taiyuan 220kV line in recent years are analyzed, and the characteristics of the terrain and landform in Gujiao Taiyuan mountain area are studied. Analysis of lightning current size and composition conditions, check the operation of the grounding device, to study the method of reducing the grounding resistance. Based on the relevant data statistical analysis method using the basic knowledge of lightning and parameters of the method to solve related problems.Comprehensive analysis and evaluation of lightning protection measures from aspects of principle, technology, economy and so on. According to the actual situation of Taiyuan mountain line, combined with lightning protection measures focus on problems in engineering design scheme and put forward reasonable choice of terrain avoid 220kV line path through the minefield, the negative angle of overhead ground wire, according to the characteristics of mountainous terrain selected conform to the condition of 220 kV lightning arrester and insulator and lightning protection device, and the use of the correct installation layout. According to the analysis of the characteristics of soil and the lightning current size, use of mountain grounding device and other measures. Finally, combined with practical work test, supplement and perfect.
