Steel logistics center is a capital intensive entity, with large investment and long payback period, the reasonable allocation of resources can not only reduce investment, but also improve the operational efficiency. Steel logistics center of loading and unloading equipment as the largest use, the use of the highest frequency of logistics equipment, its configuration is reasonable and directly related to the logistics center of the logistics operation efficiency, so the importance of loading and unloading equipment configuration for steel logistics center is evident. As a regional logistics gathering point, set ting the distribution transportation, storage, loading and unloading, processing and information processing functions as a whole, Y steel logistics center is a modern steel logistics center. In recent years, according to in-depth analysis of research, due to the early planning and some of the problems in the late operation, the operating efficiency of Y steel logistics center is not satisfactory, with a high cost.In this paper, according to the idea of combining theory with practice, starting from the basic concept of system optimization, handling system optimization to Y steel logistics center as the background, the discrete event system modeling ide as combined device configuration optimization, using the method of system simulation to Y steel logistics center facilities planning and equipment configuration was studied, and the handling system is optimized, finally to improve the operation ability, th e goals to reduce operating costs, and puts forward the company a series of measures to improve operating costs.The main contents are as follows:(1)T his paper introduces the basic situation of Y steel logistics center, and carries on the detailed description for the operation process; T hen analyzed Y steel logistics center handling system present situation. Find out the influencing factors of logis tics center handling system mainly has three aspects: unreasonable facilities planning, handling equipment layout is unreasonable and higher operating costs; Finally expounded the Y steel logistics center handling system the necessity of research on the optimization simulation.(2) In this paper, according to the theory of system optimization of several big, handling system of Y steel logistics center facilities planning, equipment configuration and operation cost, the optimization research. T hrough the ana lysis of distance- through put, dividing operation department, comprehensive operation diagram calculation, so as to optimize the facilities planning of the system.(3) T hrough the operation ability of handling equipment and handling quantity analysis, constructs a model of assignment, thus simulating optimize the equipment configuration of the system; T hrough the analysis of the operating costs, the cost of building model, carries on the system simulation and optimization, to achieve the goal to reduce costs.(4) In this paper, through the optimization study of Y steel logistics center handling system, analyzed the cause of the high cost, and according to the expected target, using the simulation software to build model, input the original data and constraint conditions, the simulation run output, so as to realize the Y steel logistics center handling facilities planning optimization system, reasonable configuration of the system of handling equipment, reasonable planning cost, through the model optimization, reasonable to reduce the operating costs of the system.
