With the large-scale development of mountain tunnel engineering in Western mountainous areas, the complex geological conditions leads to the increase of the difficulty in highway tunnel construction, resulting in various engineering accidents, such as landslide and a large number of personnel and property losses. Therefore, the risk assessment and management during the construction stage of the highway tunnel not only assesses the constriction risks scientifically, but also reduces the occurrence and losses of highway tunnel risks, and provides a reference and basis for risk assessment of highway tunnel construction. In this paper, a risk assessment module for a highway tunnel construction is set up using the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process method, and construction risks of the highway tunnel entrance is assessed and studied in combination with the construction case of a high tunnel entrance of Baoji-Hanzhong Expressway. Main contents and conclusion of the research are as follows:(1) For the analytical hierarchy process is highly influenced by the subjective consciousness and it is not objective and rational, the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process method is put forward to build a model for assessing the risk during construction stage of highway tunnel, which is used for determining the probability of the risk, as well as determining the consequence level and comprehensive grade of construction risk using the consequences equivalent estimation and risk index matrix.(2) The construction model of a highway tunnel entrance of the Baoji-Hanzhong Expressway is built using the highway tunnel risk assessment model and evaluation system built in this paper, so as to assess the construction risk of this tunnel and determine the risk level of the tunnel entrance construction, thus determining the construction security level, putting forward effective measures and ensure the smooth construction of the tunnel entrance section.(3) Meanwhile, MIDAS/GTS numerical simulation software is used to conduct numerical simulation for a highway tunnel entrance of the Baoji-Hanzhong Expressway, the numeral simulation model is optimized by using the risk assessment model and risk control measures set up in this paper, the numerical results of the two models before and after optimization are compared, meanwhile, the numerical results are compared with the actual monitor results to verify the correctness and feasibility of the risks occur in the construction stage of the highway tunnel.
