Power transformer is the important equipment in power system, the reliability of its operation is directly related to the safety and stability of power system. In recent years, with the development of power industry, power system is facing the extra high voltage, large capacity direction, which makes the power transformer insulation system of field work to bear more and more high, often become the most important reason for partial discharge of transformer insulation deterioration, transformer on the importance of system safety is more and more big. The traditional detection method must be transformer outage, but due to reasons such as shortage of electric power transformer, often can not stop, so can not be timely to the transformer insulation condition is detected, and the pressurized equipment, compensation equipment was so bulky, to carry out the work needs a lot of manpower and material resources to participate in. This study through the experiment, further ascertain the signal propagation characteristics of partial discharge UHF, VHF of clear discharge characteristics of typical defects in oil paper insulation of transformer, transformer partial discharge defect found in a timely manner through VHF means, and then continue to tracking detection or other tests confirmed and maintenance repair decision, so as to avoid transformer the fault caused by partial discharge.
