With new materials and new technologies widely used, the height of high-rise buildings are making new record,at the same time, the new high-rise buildings become more slender and lightly damped, they are more sensitive to the effect of wind load compared with traditional buildings.The wind load is becoming to a key factor of the security and reliability of high-rise buildings.Therefore, the study of distribution of wind effects on buildings should be conducted.The models of high-rise buildings with four different side ratios were tested by multiple simultaneous pressure measurement under three kinds of terrains, and the height of the models are 1600mm. After analyzing the data, the distribution of wind pressure and the correlation coefficient of wind load were obtained in different layers.The mainly study can be conducted as follows:(l)The method of the rigid models with four different side ratiosdesign and making were introduced, and simulated two types of wind fields(category B and D) based on the load code for the design of building structures. The wind load characteristics under different wind fields and wind directions were studied after the wind tunnel tests with multiple simultaneous pressure measurement.(2)According to the results of wind tunnel tests with multiple simultaneous pressure measurement, the mean and Root-mean-squre(RMS) of coefficient of wind pressure on the rigid models with different side ratios are obtained, then analyzing the characteristics of the distribution of the mean wind pressure under the different terrains and wind directions.(3)Based on the results of wind tunnel tests with multiple simultaneous pressure measurement, the extreme value of coefficient of wind pressure on the rigid models with different cross section shapes is obtained, and the characteristics of the distribution of the extremum wind pressure under the different wind field and wind direction.(4)According to the results of wind tunnel tests with multiple simultaneous pressure measurement on models with four kinds of cross-section shapes, the correlation coefficient of wind load on different layers is obtained, and the correlation coefficient characteristics under different wind fields and wind directions were analyzed.
