With the extensive application of new high-strength materials, the high-rise buildings have become more and more gentle and sensitive to wind. Therefore, the wind loads as the primary factor in the design of high-rise buildings affect the safety and application of structures. In order to determine the wind loads on high-rise buildings accurately in the stage of structural design, it is impossible to investigate the wind loads of high-rise buildings in detail.Wind-tunnel tests with simultaneous point pressure measurements and HFFB (high frequency force balance) on the models of high-rise buildings including two kinds of scales (1:200/1:100) and four kinds of cross-section shapes. By a large number of experimental data processing, analyzing the wind pressure distribution and wind load characteristics of high-rise buildings in detail. The research is summarized as follows:(1) According to wind-tunnel tests with simultaneous point pressure measurements on rigid models, investigating the mean and standard deviation of coefficient of wind pressure of the models with different cross-section shapes, thereby obtaining the characteristics of the distribution of the wind pressure under the different flow and pressure conditions.(2) On the basis of the HFFB wind-tunnel tests, analysis of the different cross-section shapes of a tall building models of resistance, lift and torque.Through the investigation of the mean and standard deviation of three forces, obtaining the impact on static wind loads of tall buildings by the wind speed, wind angle and flow conditions. Then it is compared with the results of simultaneous point pressure measurements.(3) In according with the tests with simultaneous point pressure measurements on rigid models, analysis of the horizontal and vertical coefficient of correlation of wind pressure with different cross-section shapes, and impacted by wind speed and flow conditions. The results can be referred by the creating the accurate model of aerodynamic force.(4) Based on the tests with simultaneous point pressure measurements on rigid models with two-kind scale, analyzing the the mean and standard deviation of coefficient of wind pressure of the models with different scale, obtaining the differences of the distribution of the wind pressure and the reasons to be demonstrated.
