At this stage, China’s urbanization process continues to advance, bringing a lot of environmental issues.In order to realize the better development of the ecological environment, we need to use the concept of sustainable development to carry out the planning and design of residential area, which also put forward new requirements for the design of the residential landscape.Low impact development philosophy is the implementation of residential district sustainable development is an important way. In this paper, the theory of Low Impact Development research, to the domestic and foreign outstanding case carries on the analysis, in view of the present urban waterlogging, water pollution, rainwater use environmental issues, for the residential area landscape design and proposed new solution.In this paper, the landscape design of residential area as the starting point, the concept of development mode with low impact on the residential landscape design method.The main content of the thesis is divided into three aspects, including application of Low Impact Development theory, the sustainable development of residential landscape and low impact development in the residential area in the landscape.Application of Low Impact Development in the residential area in the landscape is still in its infancy, various aspects of the theory and practice of measures is still not perfect.The Low Impact Development as a new development direction of residential landscape, through the analysis of technical measures for the development of low impact, in order to solve the stormwater management problems and achieve sustainable development put forward countermeasures of application.
