| With the rapid development of urbanization, parkland construction was accelerated around cities. A Community Park, as a green space that is nearest to urban residents and most closely related to their life, plays a very important role in providing the residents with outdoor activities and social interaction. However, due to limit of space usage, infrastructure design and management of the park etc., Community Parks were not really well welcomed by residents, though it supposed to act as a place essentially for fitness training and relaxation.In this paper, based on POE (Post Occupancy Evaluation) method, Maslow’s theory, the built environment standards and Community Parks’ main functions, comprehensive survey and analysis of Beijing Wanshou Park, Madian Park were discussed, using rose park convenience and comfort, safety, fitness rides, live communication, cultural elements as evaluation factors. Through behavioral observation and recording, basic data in user behavior days and rest days each period of time were collected by the questionnaires, aiming for the user’s visit, garden motivation, activity preferences, the importance of Community Parks and satisfaction degree, demographics five parts quantitative analysis and variance analysis to discuss community users’ needs and behaviors in the park, so that strategies to improve the performance of community can be worked out.After comparing and contrasting three outstanding Community Parks, the main conclusions are as follows:Community Parks are very important to the users, and the main user groups, comprising mainly the elderly and children; however the young will join more during working days’ noon if the Community Park locates next to malls.Community Parks are frequently used. The users take exercise, relax for the main purpose of sports and leisure:what the residents like most are walking, fitness facilities, jogging and walking, sun-based. There are various group recreation activities in Community Park, which led to high participation of residents. Users concerned more about fitness, functional activity, wishing to increase the related facilities and venues. However they showed a general lack of concern for culture and education. Overall satisfaction of the user to Community Parks is majorly decided by facilities richness. People love a park due to more facilities.Therefore, the writer weighed the advantages and disadvantages of the three parks in the shoes of users. Major problems and ways of improvement were summarized accordingly. |
