The Blind Self-Service Remote Medical Service System Design

EPC Network has changed the life style of the modern people with more convenience and assistance, and provided the medical treatment field with new solutions, especially the self-service medical detection system.According to the sampling survey of the 4th National Census of Blind, there are about 83.68 million blind people in China, which is 15.21% of the total population. Nowadays, there are still flaws in the design of the devices of self-service medical detection system for blind people, which are far behind those of the normal. The feature of the blind is that they tend to share relatively uncoordinated self-care ability, which shall bring difficulties understanding and choosing the medication and treatment as well as detecting the illness. Apart from the visual obstacle, inconvenient movement and the maladjustment to the innovations, the reason for the mentioned problems also lies in the complexity of the self-help medical service system, whose operation interface is so unfriendly to the patients and inconvenient to connect to the hospital that it has to be handled by the family or medical care.The appearance of the Internet the 1960s brought positive influence in education, medication and our daily life. It also brought an opportunity to elicit the inconvenience in getting medical care for the blind. Due to its excellent intelligent management and control, its info communications and sharing ability across time and space, the newly-designed self-help medical service system can solve the difficulties in registration, waiting and short of medical care in the community hospital, and provide the patients with comfortable medical assistant.How to put the self-help medical service system in actual practice? In addition to the necessary psychological constellation, a special self-help medical platform is also needed, an interactive platform for the medical care, family and friends. Recent years the Barrier-free cause has gained great progress both in regulations and technique. The Barrier-free cause refers to the removal of limitation and interference for an individual in a certain environment, which can be physical (e.g. hospital, the function of a product) and virtual (the internet). The self-help system for the blind refers to a self-help service system with barrier-free characteristic, and can be used by anyone anywhere in every medical method under ideal condition. The goal is to facilitate more blind people with special design of voice synthesis and fast operation in using, gaining and detecting medication for visual obstacle.To put this idea in practice, this thesis analyzed the current condition of the barrier-free medical service devices and the features of the life of the blind. According to the technical requirement of China, the thesis realized the self-help medical service methods designed especially for the blind so that they can counsel and research on the medical issue on the Internet just like the normal people. The self-help medical service system for the blind are designed by the Chinese Barrier-free Work standard to meet the medical need of the blind, equipped with functions such as on-time voice reminder, speed dial control to pick up medication with one button and communicate with the medical care and family at any time. This device can facilitate the patients with their medical condition and recognition, help the patients pay more attention on their health and therefore improve their condition. In this way the ultimate purpose of remote service is achieved.
