The rapid development of the city, but the rapid development of urban living environment for people to bring a certain influence. Neighborhood is an important part of the city, the ecological environment of neighborhood is an important place for residents to perform daily activities and contact with nature. Therefore, improving the living area of the ecological environment is very important. Xi’an is located in the northwest of the Loess Plateau, climate is drought. Ecological environment in Xi’an and its current residential green space system planning concern over the presence of artificial landscaping while ignoring the natural ecological construction, public space overload, residential area ecological environment system and relatively independent cell structure is more confusing overall planning and residential area over a single planning body, the status for poor planning method variability problem and need to improve it.In this paper, through the understanding of the concept of green infrastructure, which is used to improve the ecological environment in residential areas, and create a sustainable living ecological environment; from the microscopic point of view of green infrastructure, from the way in the implementation of the residential area angle to improve and enhance the living environment; through the current situation survey residential environment facilities, comparative analysis found that the present situation issue and problem; with the implementation of approaches and ecological environment green infrastructure improvements relevant principles, suggestions and methods. With a view to the green space network interoperability ecosystem and landscape network combining ecological residential area construction diversity.This paper selects six Xi’an neighborhoods to conduct field research, summarized its analogy summarizes problems found in neighborhood of Xi’an city and improve the ecological environment for development, summarizes research on ways to improve the ecological environment of the six residential areas, with a view to the method is applied to improve the planning and construction of other neighborhood will improve the ecological environment in neighborhood of Xi’an and residents to create a natural harmony and common prosperity and healthy and comfortable living environment as the ultimate goal. Research specific conclusions as follows:(1) Residential District in Xi’an green infrastructure failed to better implementation in a neighborhood, and its ecological environment is a single plant configuration, less vertical greening and wall greening plant species; poor lawn growing, more bare ground maintenance method imperfect; rainwater disposal facilities single, problems could not be better utilization of rainwater resources;(2) Research on the ecological environment in Xi’an neighborhood generally have a greater room for improvement, neighborhood can be developed with more green space, more land available, can grow a variety of plants, and artificial rain gardens can be implemented wetlands, improve and repair the possibility of a large lawn, the lawn can build diversity, more spacious residential road by way of municipal facilities in poor drainage, improve the feasibility of a large room for improvement in other aspects on the road to ecological drainage patterns;(3)Combining with theoretical and green infrastructure approaches in a neighborhood, it may submit comments feasible in terms of plant configuration, selection and maintenance, improving rainwater collection and other diverse species of lawn.
