Our country is now in a stage of large-scale construction of urban rail transits and with the growing number of opening lines, lines keeps forming network and thus the number of metro transfer station also keeps growing. Metro transfer stations are the junctions of URT(Urban Rail Transit) networks and the constructions of these transfer stations help achieve the connections of the URT networks. It influences the operation effects whether the design and facility layout of metro transfer stations are reasonable where there are large passenger flow volumes, complex routes and large amounts of service facilities of different kinds and even shared facilities. Thus, evaluations via simulations on the service facility layout in the metro transfer stations has been an evitable procedure in the design of urban rail transits. However, there still exist some drawbacks in the research mentioned above:in terms of choosing parameters, service facility service time intervals are usually described with deterministic distribution which neglects the randomness of passenger arrival and accepting service; in terms of modeling, most researchers only make simulations and evaluations on a single service facility without taking interactions and influence among different service facilities into considerations; in terms of evaluations, existed studies only fixed on the overall performance of metro stations,or compared different schemes, for which facility layout bottleneck identifications were not easy.To accurately describe the service facility service time interval, this paper adopted Gamma distribution, Weibull distribution, the Lognormal distribution, Normal distribution and Exponential distribution to fit the service time interval of station gates, security facilities, automatic ticket machines, ticket counters with some related queuing theory. And then it is concluded with verification that log-normal distribution can well fit the service facility service time interval probability distribution from the view of global optimum, which provides the key parameters of our system simulation model. To take interactions and influences among different service facilities into considerations, this paper regards the service facility, for example, stairs, escalators, station gates, secure facilities, automated ticket machines and ticket counters in the whole metro transfer station as a overall system with Legion to establish a metro station service facility system simulation model and set a number of simulation scenarios on basis of data picking up from the analysis on metro transfer station passenger flow characteristics, function demands and service facility service lawsTo easily identify the bottleneck of service facility layout, this paper sets a set of evaluation indicators taking transfer convenience\comfortablity\safety\adaptability to facility capability into considerations according to the analysis on the function demands of transfer stations. This system can be used to identify the bottleneck and danger locations in the stations, which both adapts to the design and operation stage of all those metro transfer stations. Finally, some simulations and analysis taking Shihudonglu station in the urban rail transit system of Su Zhou City as an example were made and accordingly some evaluation results were given.
