With the expansion of the development of automobile industry and transportation network, people travel safety problem is becoming more and more serious. Hence the occurrence of traffic accidents are increasing. The people’s attention to the tire pressure condition of the car itself increased gradually, because there is a lot of traffic accidents which are caused by the pressure problem of the tire. According to this reason, the TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System)to monitor tire emerges, it can effectively reduce and prevent problems caused by tire pressure of traffic accidents.The paper analyzes the present research situation of TPMS at home and abroad. Making a thorough study to the design goals and requirements analysis, the paper describes the working principle of the active tyre pressure monitoring system TPMS. The paper puts forward the general design scheme of software and hardware against the shortcomings of traditional TPMS. The TPMS designed based on blue tooth smart phone consists of tyre sensors, repeater and smart phone. Through radio frequency and blue tooth technology, tyre condition can be displayed on smart phone in real time. The data of tyre condition could be saved in cloud for the purpose of data analysis that works for the car manufacturers. The car manufacturers could use the data collected to develop high quality tyre.According to the overall design scheme of hardware, from the comparative analysis of various aspects of cost, power consumption, safety and reliability, the hardware composition is determined. The system is composed of Freescale FXTH87 as core solution at sampling end and MCU KL46Z、the receiver TDA5235, Nordic blue tooth chip nRF51822 and solar energy module for power supply at receiving end. aspect. The paper designs RF sending strategy algorithm achieved through the C program code. This intends to calculate the lifetime for sensors. Finally the frequency of the tyre module, the sensibility and receipt efficiency of the central module are all tested. The integrated module is also tested on the automobile.The results show that the proposed method can effectively prevent tire from flatting. This could improve the safety of high-speed car. This proves a promising practical value.
