Reasonably develop and utilize the traditional streets and lanes with protectiveness is the necessary way of city heritage, which plays an important role in broadening the city diversity, building tourism city and improving the quality of city sightseeing. In recent year, related administrations throughout country implement corresponding policies and reform regulations on the rebuild and construction of old town, which creates plenty of construction achievements and excellent design demonstrations exactly in conformity with the development of era and regional characteristics. However, the divergence of reforming the old buildings, carelessness of protection and lack of condition, in many regions, people blindly removed some single buildings, streets and lanes which deserved remaining, and built some rough and uncreative building groups. That is the regret of traditional buildings and would exert adverse impact on heritage of city building history and presenting historic buildings with regional characteristics. How to deal with those issues has been noticed by related administrations. It researches the street in two aspects, namely street environment and buildings, and organizes the street in three dimensions, namely general arrangement, spatial scale and architectural interface. While deeply analyzing the current situation and existing problems of Bamboo Lane, this paper attaches great importance on building the sightseeing environment and the maintenance and development of the old district. From that, it generates own opinion and theory and put forward means and methods on the protection of canal culture and environmental management of Bamboo district.Through the research, this paper put forward following opinions for Bamboo Lane: emphasize the refine of cultural mark due to culture fusion between south and north and highlight the cultural fusion features of Bamboo District; emphasize the commercial culture of "Bamboo products" and the reservation of opening-sell mode, and remain the traditional features of Bamboo District; emphasize the diversity of space environment and the independence of landscape image, and avoid the copies and model of other streets and lanes of other regions. I wish I could make my effort to the conservation-oriented reform and development of "Bamboo Lane" via my research.
