Study On The Effect Of Temperature On The Bursting Pressure Of Bursting Discs

Bursting disc device is usually used as safety relief device in pressure vessels and pipelines. Temperature may affect the bursting pressure of bursting disc. However, the influence of temperature on bursting pressure is still less concerned and there isn’t the correlative conversion method. Firstly, the mechanical properties of the material often used in typical bursting disc device were test and the variation of yield strength and ultimate strength with temperature were got. Based on this, the bursting tests at different high temperature of bursting discs were carried out and finite element method was used to analyze the bursting pressure at high temperature. It is found that the simulation results are consistent with the experiemental results. This work can provide a universal understanding of the influence of temperature on brusting pressue and guide to modify the temperature parameters in the equations of brusting pressure.
