The Research On University Town Public Space Landscape Planning And Design

With the rapid development of economy, science and technology, further reform of higher education and the construction of University Town on the rise, the landscape planning and design of University Town is getting more and more attention. Existing University Town landscape design has achieved some achievements, but also exposed some problems that shouldn’t be ignored like breaching of natural, lacking of culture and lacking of personality, etc. Public space, an important part of the university town, provides a communication place for teachers and students. Pleasant public spaces not only meet the people’s material and spiritual needs, but also is conducive to the formation of students’ personality character. So how to build University Town public space that respect for nature, people-oriented and sustainable has become an important issue, which is desperate for research.This paper is based on a dynamic understanding of domestic and international research on University Town and the theory of landscape design, landscape ecology and environmental behavior, Through the study of theory, literature induction, case analysis, field research, this paper researches on landscape planning and design of public University Town.Also, this paper defines the relevant concepts of University Town, University Town Public Space, and Landscape Design, concludes the functions of University Town public space, analyzes the factors that affect the landscape of University Town and masters the rules to plan and design the landscape of University Town. Besides, it lays a theoretical foundation for the project practice by analyzing the Guangzhou University Town and field trip to Shenyang Daoyi University Town.On top of this, the paper takes conceptual landscape planning and design project of Zhenjiang University Town as evidence, applies the appropriate landscape planning and design principles, refers to the advantages of cases, and makes the appropriate countermeasures to the common problems, then carried out a detailed project conceptual Planning and Design. Finally, this paper puts forward a bold outlook of University Town landscape planning and design of public space.
