As the urbanization constantly goes deeper, Hangzhou finished its development history which can cost developed countries or areas several decades or even hundreds of years. There is an unprecedented expansion, enrichment and improvement in urban population, regions, resources, facilities, GDP as well sasliving standards. In a general background that cultural industry is regarded as pillar industry in national economy, how to unite the urban history, environment and humanistic connotations together, and provide a new Hangzhou is the new task we are facing.This paper chooses The Research of the Design of Hangzhou Cultural Gifts- Take Hangzhou landscape lotus culture as an example the research subject, and it provides some thinking and references for shaping Hangzhou souvenir market and urban gifts in the help of cultural power. This paper discusses and analyzes the Cultural elements of Hangzhou mainly from the perspective of the design of products, and it explores the regional characteristics and connotations of Hangzhou. Then it regards regional culture, especially natural landscape as major research subject to make an analysis by combining the method from the surface to the centre, document literature and image materials in the use of aesthetics, artistics as well as systematics.This paper first discusses the definition and meanings of urban gifts, as well as the classifications in order to find out the merits and shortcomings of the design through the analysis of the examples of the present gift designs in Hangzhou. Then it makes an analysis of cultural levels and the factors that influence the designs to provide a division to regional cultural according to different levels, discusses the factors that influence the designs based on culture, and explores the procedures and methods of integrating culture with product designs. Next it collects relevant materials of regional culture in Hangzhou, and states the present regional cultural elements in Hangzhou. At last, it chooses the representative cultural element of Hangzhou “lotus” and combines the design factors to summarize cultural elements of natural landscape which can be applied in the design of products. The seventh chapter gives a design orientation and makes a practical research of Hangzhou cultural gifts according to previous research results. This paper last is the summary and expectation of the application of regional culture in Hangzhou the rationality and validity of the design of the questionnaire assessment.
