Overall Ecological Strategy In Residential Planning And Design

With the development of domestic economy and increasing public awareness of environmental protection, the quality of residential environment has gained more and more attention. Accompanied by the unceasing introduction of theoretical thoughts of residential quarters like “eco-friendly residential quarter”, “green residential quarter” and “low-carbon quarter”, researches on and practice of planning and design of eco-friendly residential quarters have become a hotspot in the areas of planning and architecture. Moreover, the real estate market in China also starts a wave of building eco-friendly residential quarters. However, in the process of residential planning and design, some residence built under the slogan of “eco-friendly quarters” only rests on technical level and lacks integrated application of ecological strategies.This paper attempts to summarize and analyze the methods of integrated ecological strategies within the planning, design and practice of residential quarters through researches on the ecological concept and technology of them.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part presents a theoretical review, including the research background, research significance as well as research status of eco-friendly residential quarters. Besides, the part also summarizes the research progress and the current evaluation system of eco-friendly residential quarters at home and abroad. This paper forms a more comprehensive and perfect theoretical framework through necessary combing of relevant theories, which will be used as a theoretical tool for the researches herein.The second part selects mature eco-friendly residential quarters at home and abroad for case studies and summarizes the successful experience of building eco-friendly residential quarters from the aspects of spatial layout, water resources, transportation and energy saving, with a view to providing referable guidance to the construction of eco-friendly residential quarters.Based on the case study of eco-friendly residential quarters at home and abroad, the third part discusses the ecological strategies for building residential quarters from macro, meso and micro levels, namely coordination of eco-friendly residential quarters and external environment at the macro level, construction of ecological network within residential quarters at the meso level and ecological measures in the areas of energy technology and water resources of residential quarters at the micro level.
