The ever increasing demand in vehicle dynamic performance and passengers comfort has led to further focus on vehicle thermal management system. The vehicle thermal management, which in integration of the vehicle performance of dynamic, fuel economy and comfort of crew cabin, could optimize the allocation of comprehensive performance. Advanced vehicle integrated with TMS in a synergetic process of engine cooling and air conditioning can guarantee under-hood thermo-dynamic systems operation in optimum condition. Thus, the analysis method of vehicle thermal management has become an important way to design and analysis.This article develops an analytical method of vehicle thermal management system based on modeling and analyzing of under-hood thermo-dynamic systems. This analytical method includes engine cooling thermal management and air condition system.Engine cooling thermal management system involves engine cooling system and charged inter-cooling system. The establishment for analytical program of engine cooling system mainly concentrates on radiator, inter-cooler, thermostat and air compressor etc. Concerning to conventional and generalized types of radiator and inter-cooler, this article perform two different thermal analytical methods respectively, through setting up governing equations and simulation module. A 1D/3D collaborative simulation coupling method is proposed in this acritical. 1D program integrated with thermostat, air compressor etc. models describe associations with radiator, inter-cooler, thermostat and air compressor etc. modules and 3D simulation analyze the structured details of under-hood. A computational host control utilized 1D program realizes the 1D/3D collaborative simulation coupling calculation. The engine cooling thermal management analytical method is the main solution of configurations matching covering thermo-dynamic components of engine cooling system and charged inter-cooling system,heat exchangers and cooling fan,as well as under-hood structural allocation,additionally,predicting the heat dissipation of engine cooling system and charged inter-cooling system.Air condition system is composed of compressor,condenser,evaporator and valve. This article develops an independent calculated and simulated module with the 1D simulation method which was developed by setting up governing equations and simulation module. With analysis emphatically on structure characteristics and heat transfer performance of condenser and evaporator,this article establish the coupling relationship between compressor and valves and complete the 1D systematic simulation module. Based on 3D structured association with condenser and other thermos-dynamic system of under-hood,a computational host control utilized 1D program realizes the 1D/3D collaborative simulation coupling calculation. Air condition system analytical method objectively ponders transient influence of AC cooling and heating load and solves configuration matching of under-hood thermos-dynamic system interaction.This article proposes analytical method integrated with the engine cooling and AC thermal management system, interpreting the affecting factors on cooling effect of engine and ACs refrigeration capacity, such as operation condition of engine, ACs and driving, etc. This article establishes the analytical method and employs an analysis example to provide further guidance for its application and promotion.
