In recent years, with the development of network technology and the wide application and progress of the vehicle, the vehicle network gradually become a hot research field. As the Internet gradually to approach many respects of our life and people’s attention to their information security consciousness gradually strengthened, they not only hope to get a better surfing experience, but also hope to ensure their information security. Therefore, the research for privacy security is also very extensive. This paper researched the quantification of the location-privacy in VANET and the data-privacy in the mobile communication. This paper mainly is divided into two parts. In the first part, it focuses on the research for the quantification of location-privacy in VANTE. This part describes a formalised methodology that we have developed for quantifying location privacy from the perspective of temporal and spatial correlation, which permits mobile users and applications to flexibly configure their preferential sensitivity extent. We offer a novel approach to make the disclosure of location-privacy more human-understandable and independent of the suffered attack pattern. This paradigm enables users to customise the location-privacy protection mechanisms for adapting to the frequently changing mobile context. We investigate the accuracy and applicability of the presented quantification model and the effects of combinations of various concerned parameters. We move from theory to practice by applying the proposed theoretical framework to a simulation vehicular mobility dataset TAPASCologne composes of more than two hundred and fifty thousand vehicles and a real trace set of more than ten million location sample points obtained from the Roman taxis. The results show that the quantification model can efficiently and effectively identity the real-time disclosure of location privacy as the mobile node moves and provide dependable criterion to privacy protection, which enables to restrict the location privacy to a target value and to balance a tradeoff between the location privacy and service enjoyment. Moreover, we put forward an adaptive lived-term certificate scheme for exampling how to utilise the presented quantitative framework of location privacy. In the second part, it mainly describes the research of the quantification of data-privacy in the mobile communication. In order to better describe the change of user’s privacy in data communication, we discuss the measure of the privacy information in the data during communicating based on the theory of the Information, and presented related notions about data-privacy like System, Privacy Entropy, Privacy Joint Entropy, etc. Finally, we put forward a quantification model that could measure the changes of privacy in data communication. This model provides a basic basis for people to study data-privacy protection. We investigated the accuracy and applicability of the quantification model and effects of combinations of various concerned parameters by the real data set. At last, we presented a data-privacy protection mechanism based on the quantitative model. As mobile network is increasingly developed, people enjoy the service of the Internet and expose their own privacy at the same time. So people more and more are care about the tradeoff between internet service and information security. This paper puts raise a kind of way to make it possible.
