Ocean resource is an emerging field of strategic significance. Development of oce-an resource has high dependence on ocean engineering equipment. Among them, ocean engineering ship has been widely used in many areas. Cranes on ship play an important role on transferring, handling cargoes and so on. Recent years, computer system as the core and to manipulate the console-based configuration of various simulation training device has become an essential tool in today’s major production equipment or process control equipment running operation staff induction and training. Because the crane mathematical model is core part of crane training simulator, this paper select the most common crane boom crane on ocean engineering ship as the research object and study the method to build mathematical models. Using simulation technology, graphics technology and virtual reality technology to develop boom-crane simulation system prototype. It has practical guidance for people who work at sea and operator training. The main work was as follows:1) Giving the development process and framework of ocean engineering ship bo-om crane loading simulator system. Elaborating the advantages of the method, tool and 3D graphics chosen in the paper.2) According to the movement of boom crane, establish the crane system dynamic model with Lagrange equation and solve it with Fourh-order Runge-Kutta. Analyzing crane dynamic characteristics in different forms of motion. Comparison with history, it validates the effectiveness of the model.3) Developing ocean engineering ship crane loading simulator prototype system based on the framework of MFC-OSG. By integrating crane dynamic model in the pap-er, using callback node three-dimensional visualization technology provided by OSG. Realizing crane loading and unloading process of 3D dynamic simulation.
