With the rapid development of our country economy, the scale of the project construction continues to expand. In the development of civil engineering industry, it is inevitable to encounter many technical difficulties. The crack control of building structure is one of them. Cracking of concrete structures was a common engineering quality problem, as well as was a hot spot in the research field of concrete materials. It not only affected the appearance of the building and the use of functional requirements, but also damaged the integrity of structure and affected the structural safety and durability. Therefore, it is very important to study the method to prevent and control the cracking of concrete structures. This paper is combined with the practical problems encountered in the work of the author. In order to control cracks in Wensha-jun project 12# building, a series of research and analysis were carried out. Specific work is as follows:(1) Based on the engineering background of this paper, the damage of the crack was discussed through theoretical analysis and literature review. Summarized the current situation of the research on the concrete structure crack at home and abroad. The requirements of crack control, the control principle and the mechanism of crack were introduced. And compared with the domestic and foreign anti cracking measures for masonry structure.(2) The causes of the cracks in concrete structures were analyzed and all kinds of cracks were summarized. And then classify them according to different standards. Cracks in concrete can be divided into structural cracks caused by load and non-structural cracks caused by deformation, and the latter accounted for 80% of the cracks. Cracks were classified by the cause of formation, the time, the shape and the width of the crack.(3) Around the crack prevention and control, a series of common crack detection techniques, control measures and repair methods were compared and analyzed. The crack detection of concrete structure was divided into the width detection and the depth detection. Each detection method has its application scope, and it needs to choose the appropriate method according to the actual project. Crack control can be from design, material selection and mix proportion design, construction three aspects. In addition, several commonly methods used for repairing concrete cracks were introduced. Crack control and repair methods are many, and each has its characteristics. It should be carefully chosen according to the actual engineering situation to find the best solution through comparison in the control and repair of concrete structural cracks.(4) Combined with the engineering practice, the crack problem of the Wensha-jun project department 12# building was analyzed. Exploring the causes of cracks, and combining the above methods of crack control. The application of the detection, control and repair of concrete cracks were studied. Combined with the actual situation of 12# building, the crack control and repair scheme were put forward and were carried out in the construction site by comparing several schemes. Finally, the balcony crack has been effectively controlled.
