Automotive air conditioner system mainly influences the comfort in car driving, and it’s an indispensable part of automobile industry development. Opening and operation of automotive air conditioner system are frequent. At the same time, its operating condition is very complex. So many faults will appear in the automotive air conditioner. Along with the development of the automotive air conditioner technology, the test way has also changed differently as divergent faults occur. The traditional testing technologies of automotive air conditioner cannot meet the demands of the rapid development of automobile industry in aspects of efficiency and accuracy. It is necessary to use a high technology and improve the testing technologies of the automotive air conditioner. Adopting a rapid, convenient and intelligent instrument which can acquire data of the automotive air conditioner has become the development trend in this field of fault diagnosing of air conditioner.Virtual Instrument technology combines the computer and electronic instrument with the application of the software, and changes the modules and functions of traditional instrument, in order to realize the purpose of automatic test and analysis. Compared with the traditional instrument, Virtual Instrument has a lot of incomparable superiority. In this paper Borland Delphi language is used to combine with virtual instrument technology, to develop a rapid, efficient testing system of automotive air conditioner.Based on the above purpose, our done work is finished as follow:The automotive testing technology and virtual instrument technology are introduced in detail. The structure characteristics and the working principle of the automotive air conditioner are analyzed to offer testing parameters of the automotive air conditioner testing system. The hardware structure and the software programming design of the testing system of automotive air conditioner are introduced. The designed testing system of automotive air conditioner is tested respectively with the help of two XDI type signal generators and PASSAT auto electric control test bed. Experimental results show this testing system of automotive air conditioner is valid.This system can runs on Windows XP. It consists of all kinds of sensors of automotive air conditioner, PCI2006 type acquisition card and PC etc. This system has the advantages such as high testing precision, high speed, simple operation and concise data management.
