With nearly30years of practical application and technology research, the virtualinstrument technology has become an important development direction in the21stcentury for instrument technology, sensor technology, computer technology andnetwork communication technology. The core idea of virtual instrument "Thesoftware is a instrument" makes it possible for establishing a software instrumentmodule as a standalone instrument module, and provides strong support for buliding acommon software platform based on the idea. This paper drawing on the idea ofvirtual instrument, using the refrigerator performance testing as a research object,builds a integrated fridge testing system easy to be customized and with goodscalability.After analyzing and making summary of the existing refrigerator testing systems,and refering on the refrigerator testing standards GB8059.1~3-1995and the IEEE Std1851-2012, this paper carried out a detailed analysis on the refrigerator performancetesting indicators and its functions, it builds a virtual instrument model as well as atest calculation model and a print reporting model for the data management, and setup the overall framework. The refrigerator test system consists of two parts, thelocal test part and the integrated center. The local test side is responsible for themaintenance of the virtual instrument and the refrigerator tesing information, providesa system for the control of testing climate environment based on a PLC middlewareand the web service interface for the integrated query system. The data managementcenter integrates different refregerator testing laborytories, on one hand, it providesthe interface for the local testing side’s service registration and the integrated dataquery, on the other hand, it provides the integration service website for usermanagement, with building a different user classes to meet kinds of user’s queryneeds.The general idea of this paper is using a combination of the custom configuration files with standardized interfaces from the data acquisition to the data managementcenter. Application practice shows that the virtual instrument model improves themaintainability of the acquisition hardware devices and adapts to the changes of therefrigerator performance testing needs. Moreover, the set up of the data managementcenter provides certain reference for the integration of refrigerator testing system.
