With the large-scale development of higher vocational colleges, as an important part of campus planning,the green space planning and construction in new campus attracts more and more attention from all walks of life. Low carbon is the inevitable choice of carrying out a resource-saving and environmentally friendly society. Carrying out green space construction of low carbon is the inevitable condition of building green university of low carbon. Exploring the relation between green space construction with low carbon economy and low carbon life and how to lay emphasis on Guidance and application in planning and construction are the main content of this article.Carry on the research and analysis about overall layout, partition layout, basic form, composition and technique of campus’ green land through stating relevant concepts,analyzing the function of green space and low carbon in campus,studying the principle and developmen t tendency in green space planning of low carbon and typical cases at home and abroad and combining the field survey of green apace building of partial higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province,especially that of Nanjing institute of industry technology.Find out problems existing and the reason of existence.It is concluded that there are eight important factors in green space planning.They are ecology, humanism,culture, openness, sociality, personality,rationality in choice and configuration of plants and consideration of building and post-stage nursing.Four countermeasures are proposed.They are putting forward the perfect plan and keep pace with the times, people-oriented and harmonious development, inherit the historical tradition and innovative design feature, step by step and pay attention to the management.
