The Study On Architectural Design Features Of Reform Type Civilian-run Museum

Recently, there is a rush for development, construction and utilization of civilian-run museums in our country. And civilian-run museum’s concept and social role also have changed greatly. We can call it “phenomenon of contemporary civilian-run museum”. It is not only a kind of architectural phenomenon, but also the outcome of economic force and social transformation, which has a profound and rich social cultural connotation. The study for the development and change of its architectural design features is full of academic and social meanings. However, the academic circle mainly studies it from the angle of economics,sociology and museum science, and the building of civilian-run museums is rarely studied.What’s more, there is little positive and detailed study about building of reform type civilian-run museums form the angle of architectonics. This dissertation applies this subject and aims to replenish the research system of civilian-run museum.This dissertation takes reform type civilian-run museum as study object, and through on-the-spot investigation in Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou and case analysis, gives a deep analysis on site selection scale, function composing, traffic streamline, display space,architectural image and construction materials to make a conclusion of contemporary reform type civilian-run museum’ s design features.Then, it conducts a deep study by combining reform type civilian-run museum’s operation status, and finally puts forward corresponding improvement strategy.This dissertation is divided into five chapters: the first chapter is introduction part, which introduces the background, purpose, meaning, method and structure of the study, and defines related concepts; the second chapter mainly discusses the evolution and construction status of the private museum, expounds the origin, the development course and built form classification of private museum, and puts forward the research object of this article- reform type civilian-run museum;the third chapter is the key point of this dissertation, which analyzes the architectural design features of civilian-run museum from the angle of site selection scale,function composing,display streamline, display space, architectural image and construction materials; the fourth chapter puts forwards corresponding improvement strategy for the design of reform type civilian-run museum, which is also in consideration of reform type civilian-runmuseums’ common operation status. The fifth chapter is conclusion part. It states the innovation point of the study and the expectation for the development of future reform type civilian-run museums.
