Slow Life Theory Application And Research In Household Products Design

Under the background of the fast pace of society, designers get trapped into a constantly chasing interests and the vicious circle which designs purely for the sake of design.While consumers are living in a kind of addiction to substance and consumption for the consumption state of life. Life theory and design method have been a useful tool which is accelerating consumption and strengthening the development of consumerism, because they keep away from the original track. At same time, the rise of the slow life theory tries to arouse people’s definition of quality of life. The slow design method is based on the method of product design which depends on the slow life theory, for the sake of producing more products that conform to the slow life theory in the field of design. In the final, making design serve human being.At first, this article summarized the slow life theory. By analyzing the current development of slow life theory at home and abroad, and summarized the characteristics and advantages of the slow life theory. Through the analysis of the slow design method and studying examples of product design, summed up the characteristics and relationship between the slow life theory and the design method. Secondly, this paper analyzed and studied classification and design features of household products. Analyzing reflection of the slow design method in household products design which based on the slow design method used in concrete examples of products. The paper summarized the design features and benefits depending on the household product slow design method and benefits and pointed out the key design factors of household products design depending on the slow design method. Paying attention to the emotional of users, the use of traditional natural material, attached importance to simple, avoided functionalism, guided the user’s habitual action, attached great importance to the artistic conception of household products. At last, this paper carried on the design practice depending on the slow design method. The paper designed household products with the slow life theory by the application of the slow design method, so that it could guide people to form a healthy life.Household life is an important content of social life, the fast pace of society seems to be wiped out this part. The slow life theory guided the design of household products which keyed to make people forget the negative information in life and build a healthy life in the process of using household products.
