The value of rivers in modern city economy, ecological environment, history and culture has made people pay more attention to the sustainable development of urban rivers. How to reflect its own characteristics, shape its own city riverfront landscape,and promote the harmonious development of the city should be considered based on the region. The city riverfront landscape containing abundant historical and cultural elements is an important part of the design of urban landscape. The landscape plays a crucial role in presenting the local features to drive the development of urban areas.This paper takes the Yellow River Delta as its research region, and the city riverfront landscape as its subject. It covers many elements such as the natural climate,hydrological conditions, geological geomorphology and landscape vegetation greening in the Yellow River Delta. The research analyzes the characteristics of these elements,their relationship and the status of the landscape for the purpose of a practical and necessary analysis of the construction of the riverfront landscape. Based on these,combined with the actual case of the region, it will make a comprehensive analysis of many aspects such as actual conditions, water treatment, plant selection and other elements of landscape design to explore design principles of urban riverfront landscape in the Yellow River Delta.Finally, the paper will put forward the related theories and methods of urban riverfront landscape design in the Yellow River Delta, explore the methods of combination of cultural elements and riverside landscape, summarize proper aquatic plants and some land plants which can grow in the region, and make a systemic analysis of the allocation and the selection method of aquatic plants in the urban riverfront landscape of Yellow River Delta.At the same time,the issue of themaintenance to ensure its sustainable development of the urban riverfront landscape will be considered, and have the optimization of the cultural landscape of some areas of the actual case.Hopefully, it can provide some theoretical basis for the waterfront landscape design of public green space in the Yellow River Delta,which can optimize the natural ecological environment, beautify the city image,and realize the functional maximization of the urban riverfront landscape. The construction of the riverfront landscape will provide the valuable reference for the construction and development of urban landscape space environment in the Yellow River Delta and will have far-reaching social significance.
